Star Club, Inc.


Star Club, Inc. is a non-profit 501c3, after-school program for at risk middle school students in the St. Albans, WV cummunity serving Hayes and McKinley Middle Schools.

First Baptist Church received a Memorial Gift in the amount of $104,000 from a church member to be used as seed money for youth programs. A portion of these funds were used to begin this program, thus STAR Club, Inc. opened its doors on October 15, 2018 to 15 at-risk middle school students and increased to 27 students after January 1, 2019. Our plan is to increase to accommodate 50 students in the 2020-21 school year. Our research has determined that there is a great need for the services we provide. There are approximately 1,352 middle school aged children living in St. Albans (US Fact Finder/ Of those students the average assessment achievement between Hayes and McKinley Middle School that DO NOT meet the Standard performance are as follows:

We at Star Club strongly feel that every young person is a 'star'. Every young person is unique, special, valued, has a purpose, and is a blessing. Exodus 26:4 Gods promise to Abraham, "I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed."

  1. Demonstrate spiritual awareness to everyone.
  2. Respect each person's individuality.
  3. Offer tutoring to middle school students, and
